We've created a monster!

Dr. Doolittle

Thomas loves to make us laugh - so of course we can get this little monkey to do a lot! He's learning animal noises like crazy lately. He can also stand like a flamingo - I guess we've been to the zoo a few times - LOL!



He's still not sleeping so great, but at this point it's bothering us more than him, so we just go with it. He has found the love of ice cream, well really, any kind of dessert. He's not so adventurous with other foods and prefers chicken nuggets, watermelon, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pancakes and toast. Every once in a while he'll eat a few green beans.

17 Months Old

He's becoming a little boy more and more every time we look at him!

He's learning to feed himself with a spoon and thinks it's big fun. He still only eats about 5 things, but some of them are actually healthy! His sleep is awful again as yet another molar is working it's way in....such is life with this little monkey. I had to take a picture of him sleeping last night because every night he works his way into this position - on his back, feet on the wall between the rails of the crib, rabbit close by. Hilarious!

Who gets the Remote?

During our visit with Lila and Bruce (whose names Thomas continues to practice with a grin) Thomas showed off many of his new skills and tricks.  Here's a peek into his new friendship; hangin' on the couch showing off the remote control skills. Later in the week, at Gammy and Pop's, his control was more in the form of pointing to places and letting everybody know where they should be.

We had a good time visiting Gammie and Pop. Thomas was sufficiently spoiled and Tom and I got a rare date night.....bliss!

A Good Visit and a Record Breaking Morning

Sounds exciting, huh? Lila and Bruce came to visit for a few days - much fun was had by all. Thomas was enamored with both of them, and even though Bruce declined, Thomas consistently offered him part of his meals - sometimes he even chewed it a little first. Last night, Tom , Bruce and Lila went to see the Pogues. Before the show, we all went out to dinner....Thomas enjoyed being out and about very much. He took a while to wind down to go to sleep, but was happy about it the whole time! This all apparently agreed with him, however, because he slept past 8 this morning. That's the first time ever in his life he's done that when he wasn't also up in the middle of the night with a fever. Happy Spring Break to Tom!

Making Connections

Because we have really tall ceilings, you can't reach the ceiling fan. So....there is a remote. It turns on the fan and the lights. Thomas loves it and has learned to turn it on. He especially thinks it's great fun to make the light turn on.

Well, I had a calculator out and he decided to play with it. Imagine his dismay when he pushed the buttons and the light didn't turn on. It was hilarious, he kept punching buttons and looking up....but, alas, nothing was happening.
