Thomas is in Zoo Camp and the lady who brings him to the car when I pick him up told me she really loves him and he is so sweet.
Me: Thomas, that lady said you are a nice kid and she really likes you.
Thomas: Yeah, I'm one of the good ones.

Thomas and I were at home and I decided we needed to color. He hates coloring, so we got an activity book out instead. I colored and he did mazes, word searches, connect the dots, etc. I colored a car on one of the pages that he was working on.
Thomas (in awe): Mommy, that looks great.
Me: Thanks baby.
Thomas: No, I don't mean just great. I mean you might be the BEST colorer.

Wash Wash Wash
After nearly 5 minutes of this wonderful song, I finally got my phone to capture this (reaching around the corner so as not to disrupt with my presence) ...
and then I had to stop because I just couldn't hold the phone anymore ... cracking up!

Kisses!
As Thomas is going to bed tonight.
Thomas: .....and my dentist appointment in the morning.
Me: I rescheduled your appointment so that you won't miss any of water day at school tomorrow.
Thomas: Yes! Thank you Mommy.
We close the door and do our regular routine of yelling, "good night"
Thomas: Mommy, I'm going to give you 9 kisses.
So, I've learned a dentist appointment rescheduling to make sure he gets every minute of Pre-K Water Day = 9 kisses.
I have much to learn about this scale before he gets too old to want to kiss me.

Thomas had a fun field trip to Panola Mountain on Tuesday. The teachers sent tons of interesting pictures of the kids playing and hiking. And then there were several of the kids passed out on the bus on the way back to school. And there was this one:

When I asked Thomas about it, he said he was faking it. In fact, he said, "I heard Theresa coming and Damien was sleeping and I knew you would see the picture, so I pretended like I was asleep too."
Theresa confirmed this the next day.
The boy is still toying with me about sleep!

Just Relax
Thomas: I have a big brain.
Tara and Tom: Yes, you are a good thinker. Do you know what makes you smarter? You have to try and try again. You have to work hard when things are hard.
Thomas: Daddy, you have a small brain. Small like a T-Rex brain. (holds up his hand in a tiny o).
Tara and Tom: What?!?
Thomas: Oh, just relax. (complete with hand wave)

Watch Out!
Every morning before I leave the house Thomas tells me to "Watch out for......" a list of wild animals. This list often culminates in the scariest or meanest animal he can think of. For example, he might say, "Watch out for wild dogs, hyenas, hippos and polar bears. They are an apex predator and can scratch you and eat you."
Well, yesterday he ended with, "....and watch out for elephants. And 6th grade girls."
Apparently he hears me complain about them a little too often :)

Say What?
Yes, this is a picture of the hole in the PATCH I put on these jeans to repair the hole that was already there. Does the child actually walk during the day or just crawl around on his knees?

Questions
Before school today.
Thomas: Daddy, why don't girls have penises?
Tom: That's part of what makes us different.
Thomas: You need to be more pacific.
Tom:
Yep, at that point, Daddy gets more coffee.

We got Thomas a Big Wheel forever ago, but he has never been tall enough to actually pedal it.
He has grown a lot this year.......

You Get What You Give
Thomas and I were leaving the library to come back home. He was getting in his seat in the car and trying to buckle up. He was struggling, what with all the talking and messing around and not doing what I asked him to do.
In my best sing-song "I'm trying not to be frustrated" voice I say, "Not doing what I asked."
Without hesitation, in exactly the same sing-sing voice he answers, "Don't have 3 hands."
I helped him buckle and tried to hold in the giggles.

Stomp Stomp Stomp
Getting out of the car.......
Me: Thomas, did you feel that thing you stepped on?
Thomas: What was it?
Me: My toe....again.
Thomas: I didn't feel it, but I bet you did.
Tom breaks into laughter.......
And so it goes.
