Summer Fun

Full Moon as seen from our condo over the ocean.
Drew and Thomas gathering critters from the ocean. It rained 3 days of our trip so the boys got lots of practice watching TV.

Exploring with Daddy.

Rainy day at the Children's Museum in Myrtle Beach. What chaos this was!!!!

Thomas and Drew had fun.

We got to see some Legos at Broadway at the Beach.

Posing with a Lego creation at the beach.

Back at home. We went to a place call Sensations. Where's Thomas?

Getting stronger! He climbed above our heads!

Battle of the Bands

Thomas and I surprised Tom by coming to Battle of the Bands at The Howard School yesterday. The final band is the faculty band. They played 2 songs - Tom played trumpet in one and bass guitar in the other. Thomas cheered and cheered, "Go Daddy. Yay Daddy!" He was quite charming!

After it was over, Thomas gave it a try. He's actually pretty good. Another trumpet player in the family?

Mother's Day

It was a lovely rainy day. After brunch, my sweet boys found ways to entertain each other so I could read a book :)

Inchy the class pet came to visit again! He helped us out at the library and he helped Thomas and Tom make alphabet pancakes. He went back to school today to go home with the next student in line.

1st Fishing Trip!!

Thomas and I are both on Spring Break this week, but Tara is working, so were in town doing fun stuff for a few days.  Thomas began saying, about 2 weeks ago, that he had big plans for the two of us during our time.  I decided that my plan would be to take him fishing for the first time.  After a little research, I found that fishing is allowed, and not bad, in the Lake at Piedmont Park, directly across the street from Thomas' School.
Our spot in the Shade
The first cast into the lake
We picked out a SpiderMan fishing pole and a basic simple pole, reel and tackle kit for Daddy (clearly been too long since I've been), and got a license on-line (the system was down at Walmart).  We forgot to dig worms from our yard, but made do with the caterpillar that we accidentally smushed on the dock.
Waiting isn't easy

When my reel got tangled and jammed (before even casting once into the water) Thomas suggested that we could just take turns using his.  When his jammed in the same way (after catching 2 small catfish) and I suggested that we tie a line to the end of my pole, he just went right along with it all.

"I caught a fish! I caught a fish! I caught a fish!"
After 5 1/2 hours on this little dock, we'd had snacks, lunch, met 2 great dogs, smushed 2 caterpillars and most importantly ... caught and released 6 catfish and 2 bluegills - 3 of those 8 caught by Thomas in his first ever Fishing Trip.  We both had a great time and are now looking forward to some time playing in the yard tomorrow.
It's a 'dancing' fish!
