Jumping Bean

We took Thomas to one of those places with the inflatable jumping things.  Thomas' playgroup is going to meet there this week and we weren't sure that he was ready for it yet. We thought if it didn't work no big deal and if it did, well, hey -  Anything to wear him out and get him to sleep!  He wasn't quite sure at first, but ended up having a great time.  We went to dinner after and he was charming and ate a ton of grilled cheese and fries!

The quality is not great since it's from the phone, but you get the idea..

No sleep til.........

So the 7:20 wakeup thing was a fluke. And now his naps are even shorter. I have no idea what his overall plan is, but I'm pretty sure he's devising a torture manual and testing it on us!

2 down 2 to go

The other top molar broke through today....2 more to go! And- drumroll please - he slept until 7:20 this morning. Woo-hoo, now I'm doing a happy dance.

For the Record

80 minutes is not a nap. A naplet, yes, but a nap - I don't think so. My hope is that these crazy big molars he's growing are causing the awful naps and really early wake times. If not, the online auction will begin again! It's fortunate for him that he is so incredibly charming and cute... he now says "Mama" with his head cocked to the side and a big grin on his face. Puh-leez!

Dancing at the table

This is just what happens when seated at the end of a good lunch, when the music is good enough. We're still working on getting some good footage of the real moves that happen at the peak of dance time.  Hopefully coming soon.

16 Months Old

Thomas is doing well - busy and into everything! He likes his new cook set and enjoys having a drink while he's preparing dinner. He is still not sleeping great - hopefully after all these molars get in, he'll get back to normal.

Tricks!

Thomas has never tried to stand up from a sitting position or from his knees. He always uses something to help him up. We thought he would just do it on his own, but have decided to help him learn instead of waiting around. I taught him how to get up and now try to remind him to, "Stand up alone." We make a big deal and put our hands up in the air and cheer for him. Hmmm......we've created a monster! (there's another clip at the beginning when he learned to get in and out of his rocking chair -he loves it!)

Doing better

He has a yucky cough and is still congested, but feels much better. We went to the playground this morning and he did great! He slept well last night and is right now giggling with Tom. I still have my "bed" ready to go in his room because naps are no good until he can breathe again. I may just start carrying us all around in a bubble of Lysol!

Us....not him :-) For the 1st time in a long time, Thomas woke us up in the middle of the night....screaming.........at 3:30.............and then again at 4:30........................and then again at 6:57. He just can't breathe poor thing. I don't anticipate tonight will be any better - he's been breathing out of his mouth all day and has a completely gross nose. We've already been through one box of Kleenex! I'm prepared tonight though- I have a pillow and a good blanket in his room. If he needs to be propped upright so he can breathe.....the couch calls us!

Seriously, another cold?

I'm not yet finished coughing from the cold I caught and Thomas is sick again. It's worse than the last time.......yuck!

First Haircut

Thomas had his first haircut yesterday - he was not at all impressed by any of it. He did fine, lots of tears, but he managed to get a cute little haircut.


Before the haircut, he helped Tom replace our kitchen faucet.


After the haircut, he was much happier to get home and play chase with Tom - I caught him mid "run" trying to find where Tom was hidden.

Cough Cough Hack Hack Cough

Nope - not Thomas. Though I totally blame his snotty little nose last week for this cold that I have. He of course, thinks coughing is funny and just grins at me while I hack- harrumph!

He's discovered a love for Sesame Street - well, really Melmo (Elmo to the rest of us). It's very cute and I'm trying hard to get him to say it so I can record it, but so far no luck.

He's cut his first molar and I think he's having a growth spurt....he's eating like crazy, he slept until after 7:30 the last two days and he's chewing on everything in sight.

We're tired ;-)

A New Tooth

Woo hoo - it finally came through. Poor guy - it takes him soooooooo long to get these teeth. We've still got 12 to go. I'm not sure we can take it :-)
