Some recent sweetness

So, since the last post ... Thomas has been a little angel, almost. Christina caught some horrible stomach bug, and Thomas came to work with Tara on Thursday and Tom on Friday. Both days, he was terrific. He played independently while we needed to work, he was charming with co-workers and students at both schools. These are the photos we sent back and forth via phone texts to let each other know how things were going.

Trains brought from home.

"Working" with Mommy at her desk.

Orange Sherbet Push-up after a great job all day and at dinner.

Next day (Daddy's office) - Math manipulatives make great toys.

Literally doing Math with a couple of Tom's students. "And, see, mine is shorter!"

Middle School Dance pre-party.

Two great days! Then of course at bed time ... he decided he wasn't ready and came out of his room 4 times! Arrgghh! LOVE HIM!

Serenity Prayer

Bill Cosby said it best, "I guess the real reason that my wife and I had children is the same reason that Napoleon had for invading Russia: it seemed like a good idea at the time. "

Thomas is a cute kid and man oh man is he upholding the theory that this is the only thing keeping him alive these days. He has been in time out more than he has not this week. He actually threw toys when Christina asked him to clean up! He just says, "No" when we tell him to come to the table! He hasn't had dessert in days and days!

I'm not sure I will be able to take his teenage years.

This too shall pass......this too shall pass......this too shall pass......

Car Wash

We've had the normal Atlanta amount of pollen this spring, so Thomas and I have been to the car wash a few times recently. He's been asking for a car wash for some time. Tonight, after he shucked corn, and helped sweep up the strings that had missed the trash can, he whispered something about a car wash and disappeared. This is what we found about a minute later.

Injured

But not too much!

Thomas' end of the year picnic was yesterday afternoon. He showed up filthy, scratched up and had obviously been crying. His teacher let me know he had face planted a few minutes earlier. We got him relatively cleaned up and had a nice (but hot!) time.

When we got home I cleaned all his scratches up a little more carefully. Three on his face, both knees and down near his ankle. Quite a collection.

He looked at me and said, "Well, I guess I got all boo-boo'd up today, huh?"

Indeed!

Heard at School Pick Up

Mommy, I'm made of metal.

Well, except my tongue.

That's fur.

Birthday Party

Big bouncy house for kids to jump in. Lots of screaming children. Occasional crying (fortunately not mine). Food. More jumping in the bouncy house. More screaming. More crying (still not mine - whew). Birthday cake with scary blue frosting topped with multiple flavors of ice cream.

Why does Thomas need quiet time?

Because Mommy was at that party too.
