Missing his Mommy and Daddy

Tom and I went to see the Middle school Musical at Pace last night. We had our normal babysitter Abbie. She got here while Thomas was eating dinner. Apparently the crying began soon after we left and continued on and off (mostly on) until he went to bed at 7:15....had to skip bath and everything.

He told me this morning that Mommy makes him feel happy and Daddy makes him feel happy and Christina makes him feel happy. He was thinking that today, however, we would just have a stay at home day with Mommy and Daddy.

Yay Saturday!

Zurg!

Some "friends" lining up in the grass while out to dinner. Characters from the Toy Story series.

And one of the bad guys, who doesn't show up until #3, is named Zurg, and this is the face made when playing that character. The voice matches well!

And he's not done

Thomas was trying to "escape" from me since I was catching him and kissing all over him. He enlisted Tom's help.

Thomas: Daddy, Daddy help me. Mommy's trying to get me.

I grabbed him and started kissing on him. Thomas is giggling and yelling, "Daddy, Daddy, help me" Tom then grabbed him and also started kissing on him.

Thomas: No, no. Daddy help me!

We keep kissing on him laughing at his squeals.

Thomas: Ugh. I'll help myself.

He then took off and ran across the house giggling and squealing.

Shocked!

We were discussing our attempts to eat healthier at dinner tonight. I mentioned to Tom that I bought a lot of lettuce at the grocery store today thinking that we could add a healthy salad to any meal in an effort to eat more vegetables and eat better overall.

Thomas: I don't like salads.

Tara: Well, you haven't had salads, but you are going to soon try them.

Tom (to Thomas): When I was a little boy, I loved to eat salads.

Thomas (left hand dramatically to forehead): I'm shocked that you would eat salad when you were a little boy.

Sweet Boy

We were supposed to go to a birthday party today and so were planning a quick trip to Target to buy a gift. We got a text that the little boy has a fever so the party was canceled. Tom told Thomas that Charlie was sick so we didn't need to go buy a present.

Thomas said, "Maybe we could get a different one instead. Maybe a doctor one. Maybe Kelly (Charlie's mom) could listen to Charlie's heart and that would make him feel better."

Heard at a preschool

One of Thomas' buddies told his Dad last night that during playtime yesterday at school the boys were talking about their plan to break out of school, steal a car and go see their Mommies.

I thought we sent Thomas to a crunchy Waldorf school?

Squash Casserole

Every Tuesday at school is Stone Soup day. Kids take an organic vegetable that they will cut up and put into a soup that will be shared by the group at snack time. We usually try to get him to pick a vegetable while we're at the grocery store. For a long time Thomas chose to take a potato. Not so long ago, he decided to do something different and take a Zucchini.

Last week "Rooommaaannn found a stone in his soup!!"

This week he chose yellow squash. -- Side note: Tara makes an AWESOME squash casserole, which we've talked about some recently, for whatever reason. -- This morning, getting ready to go to school, Tara asked Thomas if he remembered what vegetable he was taking to school for soup.

"Yes ... I'm taking a squash. But I still want to know ... Where's the casserole?!"
