Playtime

What a great week - warm and sunny predicted from now until.....

We had a great time at the park today and I'm really looking forward to more time outside in the next few days. Time for planting flowers and getting rid of weeds.

Say it ain't so

We've been so thankful for a couple of week break from sickness. Thomas all of a sudden started napping poorly again and waking up too early in the morning - not even getting 10 hours of sleep at night. So, we check his mouth last night and saw a molar - not even close to cutting through, but we all know how lllllllllooooooonnnnnnnggggggg and painful this process is for him.

Four more baby teeth to go....then will he sleep? Probably not - hahahaha

Spring!

We are loving this warm weather and plan to be outside as much as possible today before the rains come again. Thomas twisted his ankle this weekend and is limping a little still, but we have a family rule - no more doctor or ER visits until further notice!

Spring Festival

At Thomas' preschool today they ushered in Spring with an activity. The kids didn't know it but the parents were in on the festival. All nine of the 2 year olds came into a room and found an enchanted garden.

Thomas was pleased to find his Mommy was the Spring Fairy.

The parents didn't know that the children were also in costume.

The Spring Fairy gave each child a flower pot then ushered them to Mother Earth who planted a seed. They then visited Father Sun who shined on the flowerpot, Sister Rain who sprinkled water and Brother Wind who blew gently.
.

The Spring Fairy then returned the child to their seat and did the same thing with the next child in line. Thomas was so great and was so cute sitting in his little seat.

After it was over we went back to his class for tea and cookies.

2 miracles

1. Thomas took a nap yesterday for almost 2 hours.

2. Thomas is taking a nap right now.

In other exciting news, I got to put on makeup AND jewelry AND heels AND go to dinner with some girlfriends last night at a restaurant with no highchairs or booster seats. Quite a thrill!

a letter

Dear Thomas,
Yes, you are cute and charming. Yes, I love love love to hear what you have to say. I really cherish each minute we have together.

Now, having said that, it's clear I am not specific enough. I do not find you charming at naptime if you are awake....the cuteness exponentially decreases the more you talk and squirm and cry. I do not love to hear what you have to say at 5:30 in the morning.....especially when it has anything to do with needing me to get out of bed. I am not really loving the minutes we are working on decreasing the temper tantrums that are increasing because you are overtired.

So, though it is a familiar refrain in your short little life- Go to sleep. Stay asleep. Sleep longer.

Love,
Mommy

Getting my music on!

On Thomas' diaper there is a picture of Cookie Monster playing a trumpet. He was thrilled to find out we have a trumpet in the attic!

In other news, here's the rundown on food today in chronological order.

2 pieces of toast, 1 container of yogurt, 3 bowls of grapes, 1 container of yogurt, 1 grilled cheese sandwich, 1 plate of pretzels.

And so.....we've had

4 dirty diapers.

We hope he wants to nap....since he's been

Awake since 5:36 AM (though really, I consider this the middle of the night...as would any reasonable person).

Making up for lost weight

So far today Thomas has had a waffle, a huge bowl of grapes and is now working on his second bowl of pretzels - and it's 9:00 in the morning! Of course, he woke up at 5:45 so he's had plenty of time to get his appetite on.

But seriously, over the last two days all he wants to do is eat. It's hilarious -"where's my dinner" "I want some food" "Can I have yogurt" All food all the time!

No no no no no no no

In fact, no to most everything this week. That's Thomas' new favorite word, well, typically part of the phrase, "NO, But I don't want......". I suspect our little munchkin enjoyed being catered to while he was sick. He's less than flexible this week and isn't really liking the fact that yes he does have to take a nap, eat vegetables, stop playing and he is not allowed to watch TV all day. Gosh, we are such mean parents!
