And then on Thursday

To preface, we are constantly reminding Thomas he should ask rather than demand or tell us what he wants.

Me: Thomas, eat the rest of your chicken.

Thomas: Can you think of a better way to ask that?

Heard on a Monday

"I am an expert at cookie eating."

"That black eyed pea is dead. I think you should throw it away." (in response to one not-so-perfect pea in a big pile of perfectly fine peas on his plate.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

At the breakfast table yesterday.

Thomas: Excuse Me. Excuse Me.

Me: Thomas, thank you for the nice manners. You only have to say that one time.

Thomas (with slight eye roll): But I farted two times.

Ha Ha Ha

Thomas put a "force field" on Tom yesterday so Tom's shark couldn't get him. Then he strolled away, saying, "Ha....Ha....Ha....Ha..."

Taunting from a 3 year old? Ha.....ha......ha.......ha

Up and Up and Up

Oh Thomas.....

10:55 pm to go to the bathroom

11:30 pm sitting in the time out spot crying "I put myself in timeout because I was crying" (we have no idea)

2:45 am "I was curious what you were doing".

Uhhhhhh...... I was sleeping, but now not so much.

Thomas was playing with his work trucks and workmen on the porch today. I asked him if the men had names. He originally started talking about the tools they had. Then...he decided they needed names. So, he named one Thomas Terry Pittard and the other Tom Malcolm Pittard. He then explained, "and they are great friends."

You think he's ready for his daddy to get home from Florida?

On another note, we've had day two of flossing his teeth. That's an adventure to say the least. He's been super great about my clumsy attempts - it's way easier when it's your own teeth!

It's Still NIghttime

5:45 AM I hear that scamper of tiny feet. As you know, I do not find this endearing, particularly when my alarm is set to go off in 10 minutes.

Me: "What's wrong?"
Thomas: "I opened my eyes and it was so dark I couldn't see anything."
Me: "That's because it's still nighttime and time for sleep."
Thomas: "Oh, okay."

So, off to the bathroom we go.

I then scoop him up and carry him to his bed.

He whispers, "I love you too, Mommy."

Okay, a little endearing.

Manners

Yesterday Tom gave Thomas his vitamins (Thomas likes his chewable vitamins in a little bowl and he takes them to his room to eat).

Here is the exchange.

Tom: Thomas, here are your vitamins.

Thomas: Why, thank you.

Tom: You are welcome.

Thomas (walking to his room): You are please and welcome and.......(our laughing means we can no longer hear him).

Manners 101 - just say all the nice words you know :)
